April Lee is credited on over fifteen games for the PC, doing everything from manual illustrations, maps, concepts and in-game 2D portraits and icons to 3D modeling, texturing and animation. For Liquid Entertainment she worked on "DragonShard" (Atari Games) and "War of the Ring" (Sierra Games). She had a long tenure at New World Computing (later a part of 3DO), where she worked on "Might and Magic" 6, 7, 8 and 9 and "Heroes of Might and Magic" 2, 3 and 4. Previous games include: "Halls of the Dead" and "Inherit the Earth."

She has also worked as a free-lance illustrator, most notably on Wizards of the Coast's "Magic: The Gathering" and many other trading card games such as "Legend of the Five Rings," "Warhammer 40K," "Warlord" and "Middle Earth."

For April, reading J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings five times in a row when she was thirteen years old was the beginning of a deep love of fantasy stories and art. This led to playing "Dungeons and Dragons" and eventually a career creating fantasy art. She has attended and sold art at many SF, Comic and Game Conventions, winning awards at Westercon and Worldcon.

She holds a B.F.A. in Illustration from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, a B.A. in English Literature from Mount Holyoke College and an M.A. in Modern History from Oxford University, England.

In her non-existent spare time she enjoys reading, writing, skiing, travel, theater, archaeology, history, anime & manga, comics, Asian ball-jointed dolls and music, particularly Loreena McKennitt and The Cure (she is a recovering perky goth).

Born in Southern California, April still resides there, but has lived in England, Scotland, Colorado and Massachusetts in-between.
