Beautiful Monsters have always intrigued me, so when Ringdoll put up photos of their Frankenstein, I was immediately smitten.
Of course I also had lots of reasons not to buy. I already have way too many dolls, for one thing (but unfortunately, that doesn't seem to stop me). I also already have way too many BIG dolls. Ringdoll had also been having difficulties: in 2011 they had production problems so that many people waited for dolls and items for over a year, with communication being poor.
I also was wary of possible quality issues. I was used to Korean dolls from well-proven companies. But again, few things get in the way of doll-acquisition... So, I ended up ordering (I went nuts over Dec/Jan '11/'12 with doll-buying), and here he is!
Name, Caliban, is from Shakespeare's "The Tempest," of course. It's one of my favorite plays and it's a great monster-name. I'm also a huge fan of the Cal Leandros series by Rob Thurman. He's got a sketchy story, as a monster created by a mad scientist/alchemist/sorcerer on a desert island and is left alone...

I liked his body painting... they'd painted his finger- and toe-nails.
His skin tone is a really dark grey. Here he is with a different wig... one I'd bought for my Blood... either from Andrastrea or Thereif?
