April's Ball-Jointed Dolls
AISLING'S GALLERY

I love the non-Asian BJDs almost as much as the Asian aesthetic promoted by Den of Angels. Sara B. Seiter, artist behind The Mushroom Peddler Dolls, has been creating fantastical creatures for a while now. She had a special pre-order of her new Willow sculpt in blue, including outfit, faceup and wig--AND Buzz the Bee, for the 2012 BJDC.

I had glanced at the photos and thankfully, wasn't enthralled, as I've bought FAR too many dolls this year. BUT when I got to the BJDC and saw the Willows in person, they were just too irresistible!

She is technically a 'Tiny', but is definitely on the large side, and seems even larger with her big head and hands and feet. I love how different she looks. I thought she might be top-heavy, with that large head, but she feels very sturdy and stands and poses well. Her smile is wide, and is just the sweetest thing! She is just adorable. The tan skin Willow that was up for pre-order after her is also amazingly cute, but I do like the odd, fantasy-blue resin. And the extras that came with the BJDC Special were just too wonderful to pass up.

I'm calling her "Aisling" which sort of echoes the sculpt's full name: Willow the Impling. I was tempted to keep the sculpt name, since I love "Willow" too.

I love how different the bjds can look with just a change of wig.

Such a cutie.
